The answer has many moving parts and really depends on a number of factors. In general, most of the time it takes longer to get the HOA approval than it does to actually build the project. It could take up to a month (or longer in extreme cases) for the whole process, which consists of completing the drawings and design, submitting the application to the HOA, and then waiting up to 30 days for their approval.

Although we build patio covers year round, the spring and summer are the busiest time of year in this industry.  If you live in a deed-restricted area, your HOA will likely require an approval, which can take time.  Let’s say you were wanting to build a patio cover and have it completed before the end of the summer, before school starts back up.
